We are going tobe compared the Garmin fenix 6 Pro and Forerunner 945, on paper they are pretty similar tho.
The Garmin fenix 6 has many modifications starting at 589 and ending up to 1,000 dollars. The lightweight Garmin fenix 6 Sapphire is durable and one of the most expensive. The Garmin fenix 6 would not include maps, Wi-Fi, etc but be the cheapest.

Both share the same interface, speed, GPS chip, the same battery life, track running, cycling, mountain biking just about any activity plaining you can think of. Both include music and advanced fitness tracking and metrics.
Both have the same 47 mm diameter and the same user interface.
The same topographic maps for all kinds of different activities.
The mapping has gotten better for the fenix but it is still very usable for the 945.
What is different
- Price. The fenix 6 Pro is more expensive.
- Build Quality. The fenix offers a wide range of scratch-resistant display and case material. The Sapphire is the most durable. The Forerunner 945 is made of plastic with a Gorilla Glass screen.
- Another thing is the weight. The fenix 6 is 86 grams with a strap, 30 grams heavier than the Forerunner 945 which is really noticeable on the wrist. To get a better heart rate reading, you need to tighten up the strap on the fenix.
- Both have the same diameter but the fenix is a bit thicker. The fenix has a quick-to-change bands to change it if you please. The Forerunner is compatible with one too but does not have it in the box.
- Widgets. They have a different widget interface which allows you to see all the data in a quick scroll. The fenix has a mini version of these widgets so you can see them by scrolling while the 945 has a whole-screen widget menu so you have to scroll through the whole menu to find what you want.
- Power mode settings. The fenix 6 has an ultra-low battery mode which gives you up to 45 days of battery life on standby.
- Pace Pro Plans. This is kind of your wrist-located trainer. With this feature, you can set the goals of your running and it will calculate the estimated data for you to reach that goal.
- Expedition. This is for people who spend more than one day climbing mounts. The watch will track your GPS every hour which will extend battery life but you still be able to get all the needed data.
Summing up
Both have a great job in GPS tracking, tons of features, and fitness metrics available.
If you want a durable watch, go with the fenix 6.
If you prefer something more lightweight, consider getting the Forerunner 945.
