Pros and Cons of the Dyson V8 Animal & Absolute

Let's have a talk about the best-selling Dyson cordless vacuums, the Dyson V8. There is the Animal and Absolute version. Both have the same cleaning performance but the Absolute includes a soft roller that works better on hard floors.

The best thing about the V8 and V7 is its carpet cleaning ability. It doesn't have any issues with picking up all types and sizes of debris. Either no issues with clogging even with larger size debris.

Talking about the pros of the Dyson V8

1. Power

When testing airflow of the V8 it's pretty clear that this is one of the most powerful cordless vacuums still. And the V8 is a little bit more powerful than the V7.

2. Crevice pick up test

The new style of the V8 cleaning head with the gates that can be opened up, the V8 outperformed the V7 on both low and high power modes.

3. Filtration

The Dyson V7 filtration system was not sealed HEPA. The V7 only has one model that is HEPA, the V8 modifications are sealed HEPA.

4. Weight

The newest models have a different design and they are also heavier than the V7 and V8 which can be tiring on the forearm. This is what makes the oldest V7 and V8 more attractive as they are more lightweight. Almost two pounds does make a difference.

The Dyson V8 is a bit more powerful than the V7 and with that being said, it also lasts longer than the older model.

6. Built Quality

The V8 are well built they are solid long-lasting vacuum that has some of the best customer satisfaction scores.

Cons

1. Cleaning head.

Even though the V8 has a better cleaning head, it still struggles with big particles on hard floor. But this issue can be fixed by buying a soft roller head. This type of head it the best way to vacuum hard floors. 

2. Deep carpet clean

The Dyson V8 scored 96% during the deep carpet clean test which is much above average but the V7 got 100%.

3. The price.

These Dyson our well-built and some of the best cordless vacuums out there. And still, they are a bit pricey.

The vacuum is easy to maneuver and operate even in tight spaces.

There is a crevice tool for tight areas, a combo tool, and both the Animal and Absolute versions come with the mini motorized brush which is handy to use on upholstery stairs or cars.

Testing and other specs

The Dyson v8 was also slightly better with hair tangles than the v7 in tests there were no tangles with 1 gram of  7 inch human hair and minimal tangles at one gram of 14 inches all of which is better than average for cordless vacuums in general. 

Also to mention was the noise level with these v7 and v8 models are much quieter than the newer Dysons especially on their max power mode.

To conclude

If you live in a smaller house or an apartment, the V8 is a great vacuum to buy.
