Dyson V11 vs. Tineco PURE ONE S12 the difference
For how long the Tineco and Dyson last
The Tineco cleaners have a detachable battery which helps to extend battery life if you get extra. The Dyson's battery is built-in and can not be removed manually but the manufacturer claims its battery lasts up to 15 years. The type of batteries is also different: Li-Ion (Tineco) and Nickel Cobalt Aluminum (Dyson). With two batteries, the Tineco works for up to 100 minutes while the Dyson can go for about 70 minutes on one charge.
The Dyson V11 Outsize has detachable batteries and provides 60 minutes of cleaning. It comes with two in the box.
The Dyson V11 and Tineco PURE ONE S12 modifications
The Dyson V11 has three main models: Absolute, Torque Drive, and Animal. The Absolute has an additional soft roller in the box and some extra accessories. The Torque Drive and Animal lack the soft roller. The Animal version is the cheapest and has a different type of display without a countdown timer. The specifications of the three of them are the same.
The Dyson V11 Outsize is also a part of the lineup but it is different from the other three. The cleaner is designed for big cleaning areas, has a wider cleaning head, longer battery life, it is the most powerful in the industry, and also has swappable batteries.
The Tineco PURE ONE S12 model line includes two modifications: S12 and S12 Pro EX. Both can be connected to the app, have a dust sensor, and a switch lock to keep the power button to the on position as you vacuum. Each has a cleaning head with LED lights to track dust and dirt in the dark.
The S12 and S12 Pro EX are equipped with a big display and have an adjustable suction control so you can set suction manually depending on cleaning tasks.
The PURE ONE S12 Pro EX is the only modification in the lineup that has an additional soft roller in the box
The Pro EX version comes with two cleaning heads, the standard, and the soft roller. One is great for carpets and suitable for solid floors, the other one is the best solution for bare flooring.
Other things
The Tineco cleaners have a cleaning head with LED lights. It helps to track dust in the dark and hard-to-reach places. The Dyson lacks this option.
Only the Dyson V11 Absolute and Tineco PURE ONE S12 PRO EX come with an additional soft roller for for hard floors
The Dyson has a bigger dustbin (760 ml vs. 600 ml). If you have pets that shed a lot, you probably would want to go with the Dyson but the Tineco's dustbin is relatively big too. We recommend emptying the bin after every cleaning as a clogged filter and full dust container cause suction loss.
How good is the filtration?
The Dyson's filter is sponge-like and can be washed with water. To start cleaning again, you have to wait for it to dry out. The Tineco has a rinse-free cleaning system that wipes the dust out dusting vacuuming. Because of this, the Tineco is always ready to be used.
The Dyson V11 and Tineco PURE ONE S12 are safe for allergy-sufferers
The Dyson V11 is the most powerful machine on the market (with the V11 Outsize having even more power). The Tineco is less powerful but still capable of deep carpet clean and can be used on medium-pile carpets.
Which one is better with pet hair?
Both have a similar design of the cleaning heads, however, the Tineco is slightly better at resisting hair tangling. Both doing well with pet hair, better than most cleaners on the market.
Smart sensors
Each has a smart sensing system that adapts battery life depending on the surface or dust.
The Dyson adapts battery numbers to a carpeted surface, while the Tineco does the same things on the dusty areas.
The smart sensing system makes battery life more efficient by boosting suction where it needs more power instead of running the vacuum on the highest settings all cycle.
The Tineco also can be connected to the app. Only a few vacuum cleaners have this option.
In short: what are the differences between the two?
- The Dyson is more powerful, has a built-in battery, a bigger dustbin, and adjusts suction to a carpeted surface. The Dyson V11 Outsize has detachable batteries, the biggest in the industry dustbin, the strongest suction, and a wider cleaning head.
- The Tineco modifications have detachable batteries, more accessories in the box, LED lights, can be connected to the app. They also adapts suction to big messes rather than to a floor type.

The detachable batteries give you flex on cleaning time. If you need to cover a bigger area you don't have to wait until the vacuum is charged up, just swap the battery and get started. You can buy a third battery if needed.
The Tineco PURE ONE S12/S12 PRO EX are perfect for big households
The HEPA filtration of the Tineco is fantastic. With other filters, you have to wash it with water and let it dry. Tineco's filter does not need water. To make it clean, wipe it out, and it's ready to go.
So unlike the Dyson V11 that detects carpets, the Tineco has the iLoop Dust Sensor that senses debris and boosts suction power to provide deeper cleaning. It is more efficient, the battery lasts longer since you don't have to set max power settings. If your hard floors are dirty, the Tineco will boost suction, and if your carpet is not that dirty, the Tineco will save battery energy by not giving extra power when it's not needed.
The Tineco senses dirty spots and provides deeper cleaning on those areas
Another thing we have not seen before - is power suction control. The slider allows you to switch between Manual and Auto modes, with a capacitive touch bar, easily swipe up and down to adjust power. In Auto mode, the vacuum adapts battery life to dirty areas by increasing suction on those spots. In Manual mode, you adjust suction power depending on cleaning tasks.
Adjust suction power whether you need to clean big messes or use the Tineco for quick cleanups
The Tineco is the first cordless vacuum cleaner that can be connected to an app. The app allows you to receive real-time updates and keep track of your cleaning report, also easy to check malfunction, etc. You can ask Alexa for cleaning status, battery levels, reminders, etc.
The Tineco is one of a few cordless vacuum cleaners that have an app & integrates with Alexa
The Tineco has a Dual charging wall mount that holds the vacuum and 3 additional accessories onboard.
The Tineco PURE ONE S12 is a powerful vacuum cleaner that works well on carpet or bare-flooring. By adjusting suction power, you save battery life if you don't need extra power when vacuuming bare flooring or thin carpets. 100 minutes of battery life makes the Tineco perfect for big homes. A smart sensing system knows where bigger messes are and provide deeper cleaning on those spots.

The Tineco PURE ONE S12 PLUS comes with two cleaning heads: one for bare floor and the second one for carpet. The Dyson V11 Absolute is equipped with two rollers as well, but the Absolue version does not come to the US market anytime soon, however, you can get the soft-roller on Amazon separately.
The Tineco has an airflow of 26 CFM to 43 CFM depending on the power setting which is more than the Dyson V10 on low power delivers (26 CFM vs. 18 CFM) but is higher on high power settings (43 CFM vs. 41 CFM).
The Dyson V11 delivers 30 CFM on low power and 59 CFM on high power. We should mention that even 43 CFM is a lot for a cordless vacuum, only the Dyson V11 shows more.
In a deep carped test made by Vacuum Wars, the Tineco S12 got 99% and the Dyson V11 got 102% and these are extremely high results even for corded vacuums.
The human hair test shows that the Tineco does a good job of transferring almost all hair straight into the dustbin. The Dyson also was good at this test, but the Tineco has a better anti-tangle system.
The pickup test shows mainly that both of them do a superb job at picking up different sized things from ultra-fine to large debris on carpet. Due to lack of the soft roller, the Dyson needs the gate to be open when picking up large stuff like cereals but it the end, it did well even with the carpet head. The Tineco though struggles with large debris on hard floor when the carpet roller is attached but has no issues when you switch it with the soft roller head.
Battery life is something to consider. The Dyson V11 has one built-in battery that lasts up to 74 minutes at 30 CFM on low and up to 8 minutes at 56 CFM on high power settings.
The Tineco has two detachable batteries that allow using the vacuum longer. One battery gets 50 minutes at 26 CFM on low and 10 minutes at 43 CFM on high power settings. Remember, if you use the second battery, cleaning time will double-up. Also, there is the Auto mode that optimizes battery life depending on the settings you set.
Tineco or Dyson?
The Tineco PURE ONE S12 V costs $399.99, the most-featured Tineco PURE ONE S12 PLUS will cost you $524.99.
The Dyson V11 Animal has an $581.0 price tag, the Torque Drive would be $567.99, and the Absolute version is on sale for about $800.
When the price is about the same, we have to look deeper at the advantages of each. Both vacuums are premium models and are great at picking up pet hair, handling ultra-fine debris even on high-pile carpets, and performing well on bare flooring.
The Tineco has detachable batteries, longer runtime, dust detection, power control, easy-to-clean HEPA filter, LED light heads, and the app. If your surface is mixed, you don't want to spend more time on maintaining, need the ability to adjust suction power the way you need, you have pets or long hair, consider getting the Tineco PURE ONE S12. The Tineco also handles hair a little bit better than the Dyson so if your hair is long or you have pets, keep that in mind. If you don't have carpets, we would either recommend getting the S12 PLUS model or any of the other models and buy a soft roller separately.
On the other hand, the Dyson V11 has a stronger motor and would be more suitable for homes with thick shaggy carpets, it has a bigger dustbin, which might be better for those who have pets. If your home is mostly about carpets or you have more than one pet and need extra cleaning power, get the Dyson V11. If you are looking for a decent cordless vacuum to clean carpets - any of those two would be ideal to get. The Torque Drive version though does not have a soft-roller head but it might not make a difference if you don't have a big area of hardwood flooring. You can also buy the soft roller additionally if needed.
