The Samsung Jet 90 Complete

The Jet 90 is an incredibly advanced stick vacuum with a lot of interesting specs and innovations.

Samsung Jet 90 vs. Jet 75 vs. Jet 70

First, let's talk about the lineup differences in the Samsung Jet series.

Specs/Models Jet 90 Jet 75 Jet 70
Battery life, min 60 60 40
Performance, AW 200 200 150
Accessories 3 3 2
Docking & charging dual charging station wall mounted wall mounted
Pipe type 4 step telescopic fixed fixed
Replaceable battery yes yes yes
Brushes turbo, soft, mini turbo, soft, mini turbo, mini

The Jet 90 Complete is the most expensive version with the Jet 75 Complete and the Jet 70 behind. The Jet 90 and 75 are the same vacuum with the same power specs. And come with the same three brush heads: the regular head, the soft brush head, and the motorized handheld brush.

The Jet 75 does not come with a heavy-duty dual charging stand but just a wall-mount and it has a fixed wand instead of the telescopic wand that comes with the Jet 90

The Jet 70 has less power than the others at 150 air watts as well as less battery life. It does not have a soft roller or a heavy-duty stand or a telescopic wand.

Pros

  • Power
  • Suction
  • The high-quality tools and attachments
  • Battery life
  • Filtration

The Samsung Jet 90 has a ton of power Samsung says it has 200 air watts which is a lot more than the Dyson V11 Torque Drive. But not quite as much as the Dyson V11 Outsize.

But still way more than the majority of cordless vacuums.

Samsung Jet 90 vs. Dyson V11 Torque vs. V11 Outsize

Specs Jet 90 V11 Torque V11 Outsize
Power 200 185 220
CFM, high 57 69 64
CFM, low 24 30 30

When testing the Samsung's power, the numbers were high but not the highest 57 CFM with the Dyson V11 Torque and Outside having 59 CFM and 64 CFM respectively.

Cleaning results

Crevice pickup test shows how good the Jet 90 with the roller brush or the standard roller attached. The results were about the same which is rare. Only the Lupe and the V11's showed better results.

Deep carpet clean test shows that the difference between high and medium suction is not that big with the vacuum scoring 100% and 96% of sand. Normally the cleaners have a significant suction drop when going from high to medium power settings.

With the soft roller attached, the cleaner did a great job at picking up things on hard floors. It did particularly well with everything from fine to extra large debris of all types. All the tests with the soft roller were made on medium power.

The regular head can be used for carpets or hard floors but on hard floors like the others, it tends to have issues with picking up debris so you would probably need to use the wand. On carpet tho, it was able to pick up that same size debris and even much larger debris with no problems.

So the regular head is great for carpets and the soft roller is great for hard floors. But changing the heads for each is recommended for best results.

What comes in the box

You get a combo upholstery dusting brush with long bristles that you can actually use to dust things which is nice. An extendable crevice tool is different from an adjustable extension tool which can be used with a brush or crevice tool. And a pretty high-quality electronic brush for stairs or cars or just for around the house.

Some tools are sold separately such as the Samsung Jet Spinning Sweeper that can be attached like a brush head. The microfiber pads or wet pads can be attached and bought separately too for the best mopping results. Apparently, it cleans hard floors or the really innovative clean station where you take the dust band off your Jet and place it on this dock which then sucks out the debris into a bag and does so with high-quality filtration in mind.

The cleaner comes with one battery and the other batteries are sold separately.

Battery numbers & Filtration

Battery life Jet 90 V11 Torque V11 Outsize
Max, min 10 8 8
Low, min 60 60 80

And sturdy battery life was a pro. Samsung is an industry leader in general with battery technology. And so it's no surprise to see it match fairly well with the dicing cordless vacuums.

On max power with the motorized soft brush, the Jet 90 gives 10 minutes, and on medium power with the regular head which will probably be the most common usage (gives a little over 24 minutes). All of those numbers are above average for this power output.

Samsung claims their HEPA filters are just a little bit better than standard HEPA filters.

Cons

  • Price
  • Weight of the handle
  • Air intake small
  • Telescopic wand

It feels like there is a little bit more value here compared to some of the others in this price range but the price is still above average.

Another con is that though the weight of the handle was decent when compared to other vacuums in this class like the others, felt it was a little bit heavy on the arm especially if you were planning on using it in handheld mode for any length of time.

Another thing is that as with many of the Dyson cordless vacuums its air intake was somewhat small. For example, particularly large fruit loops would get stuck in the intake and prevent further pickup.

And another thing was that no reason to have the telescopic wand. It wouldn't fit on the stand unless it was retracted first. And it was ridiculously short if it wasn't fully extended. So it just seemed like an extra step with no obvious benefit.
