Here we have two hairdryers, the REVAIR Reverse-Air Hair Dryer & Dyson Airwrap that do not look like a hairdryer you used in past. The one works sucking your hair while the other one blows it. Both are premium devices and are pretty expensive.

The second tool which is the REVAIR Reverse-Air Hair Dryer is huge and basically works as a vacuum for your hair.

How does it work

You turn on the power and basically, the heat will come out with it. The second mechanism where the hair will get sucked is located next. One side would be done with the REVAIR and the other side with the Dyson with the smoothing brush tool attached.

Let's see which one performs better and faster, the one that is sucking or the one that is blowing.

REVAIR Reverse-Air Hair Dryer

The REVAIR works the next way: you take a piece of hair and let the dryer suck it. Keep it at or near the scalp. You don't have to move it up or down the hair length. When dry, repeat it section by section until it's complete.

Hair looks good and feels very soft but there is no volume happening. Hair is sleek and straight.

The dryer has no styling capabilities so if you are looking for something that can style your hair, the REVAIR is not what you are looking for. This is pretty much just drying your hair.

Noteworthy that the REVAIR Reverse-Air Hair Dryer is ideal for curly hair or for those who want to achieve that straight sleek hair look. On straight hair, it might not give you the wow effect you are excepting.

Dyson Airwrap

The Dyson Airwrap comes with extra attachments for different styling results. Depending on the configuration, you may get one with four or six attachments. The modifications also made for different hair types. The biggest set is recommended to buy for friends or sisters who have different hair types. There is no need to pay more for all attachments for one person.

Here the smoothing brush tool attachment was used. The firm smoothing brush is better for sick frizz-prone hair.

Instead of drying hair first and then styling it, you can use the brush attachment and get the styling a few passes. You can wave your hair a bit with the help of the brush and give the look a bit more volume too.

Comparing to the REVAIR which is probably better for frizz-prone or curly hair, the Dyson is suitable for multiple types of hair and can do some hairstyles. So these are different products made to achieve different results.

Let's look at the differences

The REVAIR takes about twice as much time to do the hair compared to the Dyson. Another thing is the hair side dried with the REVAIR may still not be completely dry if you are in hurry and want to do work fast.

The Dyson gives your hair some volume when the REVAIR does not. But we would say that those two are made to achieve different hair looks.

The one thing about the REVAIR that might keep you off getting one is its size. It's bulky and massive and might be tiring on the arm. It's a cool tool and really heats up the room.

Things that may be better with the REVAIR

  • It's hot, heavy, and loud.
  • Even if you just turn it on, the room temperature gets hot.
  • The size of it is another complaint. You're not only capable of using it for long but also can't travel with it. There is lots of room for improvement.

About the Dyson

The Dyson is much smaller and comfortable to use and travel with.

In terms of size, the two can't be compared as the Dyson is way ahead.

About the safety of each tool

We are talking about the safety of your hair. And the quality of your hair after you use these tools over and over again.

The REVAIR

Even tho the unit is heavy, it does not seem to be damaging your hair.

Your hair does not get too hot and this is probably why it takes longer to dry it. It is easy to take it in and out, the hair does not get stuck. Even really long hair is easy to take out. Keep in mind, the bottom of the hair gets tangled a bit. Not a big deal but this is what happens when using the REVAIR.

The Dyson

The max temperature does not get super high and there is the option that lowers it if needed. This makes the tool safe for your hair. If you have fragile hair and use the highest temperature with dragging hair when the brush is attached, you are putting a little bit of extra tension on your hair which might cost something to your hair in the long term.

Other than that, the Dyson is safe for your hair.

Conclusion

The two tools are made for different purposes so we can't say which one is better.

The REVAIR Reverse-Air Hair Dryer is essential for thick and curly hair. It is ideal if you want your hair to look flat and sleek. And it is a dryer, it does not do any hairstyling to your hair, it basically dries out your hair in a unique way. The thing is also a lot cheaper than the Dyson but on the other hand, it does not include extra tools.

Keep in mind that the REVAIR is a big and massive machine so if you are planning on carrying it around, this might not be the best tool.

The Dyson is the tool that will give your hair some volume and you can do some curls or straighten up your hair. Keep in mind, that there are different modifications for any type of hair. If you are looking for a hairdryer that also would work as a hair styler, consider getting the Dyson Airwrap.
