If you are looking for a good option that would cost you less than $200, you might want to consider getting the Jashen V16 or V18. This model aims to compete with other popular products in this price range like the MOOSOO stick vacuum.

So let's see what is the difference between the two models in the lineup.

The JASHEN V16 vs. V18

The V series includes two models: the V16 and V18. There isn't much of a difference between the V16 and V18.

Things the JASHEN cleaners share

  • motor
  • battery size
  • dust cup capacity (500 ml)
  • attachments

The V16 is a cheaper option of the two, but both have the same motor, battery, dustbin capacity, and also attachments.

They both have a removable 2,500 mAh 25.2-volt lithium-ion battery. A detachable battery is easy to replace or get another one when you need the cleaner to work longer. The vacuum lasts up to 40 minutes on low power setting and 15 min on max power.

The vacuum also has a removable dust cup that can hold up to 500 milliliters of debris.

Out of the box, you’ll get three extra attachments for above-floor cleaning.

The difference between these two:

  • dust sensor

The V18 has the dust sensor while the V16 does not.

The dust sensor indicates the amount of dust the vacuum cleaner is picking up in a given area

The sensor senses a big amount of dust and increases suction automatically.

The Jashen V16 design

The power switch sits right on top of the body along with two other buttons that toggle between 3 power settings.

The whole dust bin assembly is detachable which makes cleanup a lot easier.

The filtration system is not sealed but it includes a HEPA filter.

The vacuum has a charging station that can be hanging on a wall. The charger can charge the vacuum and an extra battery. It also holds 2 additional attachments: a standard roller with stiff bristles and a soft roller for hard floors.

The JASHEN has one adjustable gate. Unlike the Dyson V11 that has 2 small gates, the JASHEN has one large gate that helps the cleaner to pick up big particles.

On the cleaning head, you can see LED headlights that help to track dirt under poor lighting conditions.

How well the JASHEN V16 performs on carpet and hard floor

JASHEN V16 airflow measurement:

Mode Head Wand
Low, CFM 21.95 25.48
Mid, CFM 27 30.64
High, CFM 33.3 39.25

It taps out at 40 CFM at the wand and 33 CFM at the maintaining head which is decent at the price point.

The adjustable-gate is useful in cleaning hard surfaces as it has enough clearance to pick up small or large particles of dirt.

Hard floor cleaning

It did very well in the sand on hard floor test as it picked up an average of 99.6% on 2 tests. So this is an excellent option under $200 for people who live in sandy areas.

The standard brush roll also performs well on carpet, however, the stiff bristles have a tendency to kick large debris forward. Its main strength is cleaning smaller particles of dirt.

Deep cleaning test

After embedding sand into carpet, the JASHEN V16 scored 87%. For a vacuum under $200, it is one of the best results.

Hair pick up test

When testing the ability to pick up hair, most of it went straight inside the bin. If you live with anyone who has long hair, you will eventually have to check both brushes for hair that may wrap around it. Worth mentioning that only a few high-end devices resist hair perfectly fine.

It was able to clean most of the debris that fell into a quarter-inch crevice. But had to use the max power setting to achieve this overall it scores high marks in this area.

Is the JASHEN V16 good for big homes?

The V16 will run for up to 40 minutes and based on tests. It exceeded this number in the lowest power setting it runs for 44 minutes and 50 seconds with the combination tool attached.

Run time Head Wand
Low, min 38:51 44:50
Mid, min 21:34 22:17
High, min 19:25 20:11

With the main cleaning head, it ran for more than 38 minutes in the low setting. In the max setting with the combination tool, the battery lasted for 20 minutes and 11 seconds before shutting down.

Overall it is a very good result for an under $200 vacuum cleaner.

The cleaner is suitable for small and average homes. To clean a big home, you most likely would need to get another battery.

How loud is the vacuum

Noise level Results
Low, dB 70.1
Mid, dB 72.7
High, dB 76.3

This is an average noise level for a budget option.

Weight and ergonomic

The cleaner weighs 5.5 pounds with the main cleaning head and a wand attached. It measures around 44.09 inches tall and the main cleaning head is a little over 10 inches wide. Steering is decent but not as precise as Dyson's.

Handheld agronomics will be similar to other cordless vacuums that have a trigger switch. The good thing about using a button is that there is no need to continually squeeze the trigger.

Conclusion

The JASHEN V16 is an excellent cordless vacuum. It costs almost at the same level as the MOOSOO stick vacuum and it comes with an extra soft roller attachment that works very well on hard surfaces. It won't have any problems even with hard to clean stuff like sand picking it up even at the lowest power setting.

If you're looking for a budget alternative for cleaning carpet, the V16 should be on your shortlist. It's one of the best at this price point at deep cleaning sand on medium-pile carpet.

If you want an efficient battery, consider paying more for the JASHEN V18. It costs about $20 more which is not that much for a cleaner with a dust detect.

This would be a lot easier to read if it were edited by someone who has a better understanding of the English language. But thank you for the review.
