All these options have the same motor and cleaning heads.
The difference between them is an accessory kit, battery size, and some other small things.
The S12 and S12 PLUS come with a Direct-Drive head while the others have a Full-size head the same as the older A11 has.
The direct-drive brushroll is larger and better at resisting hair tangling.

The Animal version has the same accessories as the Absolute. But the Motorhead is the list expensive option. It has a smaller desktop and an older direct drive brush well.
The Dyson V10 vs. Tineco PURE ONE S12
Before heading to the difference let's have a look at what is similar between the two.
Similarities
And the first is the design.
Both vacuums have interchangeable tools, that make them useable as a handheld and stick vacuum.
Second both use a trigger to turn the vacuum on and off.
The Tineco has a switch lock that holds the power button in the On position while with the Dyson, you have yo hold the trigger for as long as you are going to vacuum.
Lastly, you can replace the battery of these vacuums.
The difference is that the Pure One's S12 battery just not require any tools to remove since it has a quick-release slabber while the V10 does not. So you will have to use a few screws to remove the battery.
Main differences between the two
The first thing you notice would be the LCD screen of the Tineco.
The screen changes its color depending on how dirty your floors are.
It provides information such as battery status, power level, WiFi, potential blockages, iLoop sensor status, and much more.
The Tineco has an LCD display, the Dyson does not
Not many other brands have an LED screen in their products. One other stick vacuum that comes to mind is the Dyson V11 Torque Drive.
The PURE ONE S12 adjusts suction on dirty spots making the battery more efficient
The Dyson has a bigger 770 ml dustbin while the Tineco is equipped with a 600 ml one. A bigger dustbin is better for pet owners. Another difference is the vacuum's dustbin disposal.
The Dyson has a bigger dustbin
The Tineco's main machine can be detachable and the filter quickly cleaned with a vacuum or just by wiping the dust out.
With the Dyson, you have to wash the HEPA filter with water and leave it to dry for 24 hours.
As mentioned above, the Tineco has a manual suction control that allows adjusting suction.
The Tineco allows adjusting suction by using the manual suction control
If you don't want to use it, leave the vacuum on Auto mode and let the dust sensor do the job.
The Dyson V10 has three cleaning modes and does not adjust suction automatically.
Both cleaners have a wall-mountable bracket that charges the vacuum and extra battery simultaneously. Depending on the model, the charger holds up to three other attachments, which makes it a truly space-saving tool if you don’t mind drilling holes on the wall.
Is the Tineco as powerful as the Dyson? Cleaning tests
The PURE ONE S12 is their most expensive offering and exceeds the price of the Dyson V10. It does have more power than the V10 (61.7 CFM vs. 59.7 CFM) in the highest setting (measuring at the wand).
Airflow Cleaning Head/Models | PURE ONE S12 | Dyson V10 |
High, CFM | 50.71 | 49.27 |
Med, CFM | N/A | 31.3 |
Low, CFM | 27.9 | 26 |
In the deep cleaning test where 100 grams of sand was embedded into a low-pile carpet, the Tineco scored 98.3% when the Dyson did ~97%. Not a really big difference.
On low pile carpet, the Tineco was slightly better
Combined cleaning test scores
Tineco PURE ONE S12 | Dyson V10
Hard Floor | 99.8% | 98.8% |
Carpet | 99.3% | 98.4% |
*combined scores of the surface cleaning tests on quinoa, coffee grounds, quaker oats, and pet litter.
As you can see there is not much of a difference between the two in terms of cleaning results.
Keep in mind that the dust sensor makes battery life more efficient as it increases suction power for you.
On hard floors, both did flawlessly when using the soft roller that is ideal for such type of a surface.
Because of having the adjustable gates, the Dyson does better with bigger debris such as fruit loops
The S12 has a lower clearance which causes worse cleaning performance on hard floors with large particles such as cereals.
On carpet, both do well with large debris.
When using the Torque Drive head, the Dyson needs a few passes to pick up the sand scattered on hard floors. With a soft roller, it has no issues.
On the sand cleaning test on hard floor, the Dyson scored a perfect 100%
The Tineco scored 99.9% using both attachments.
How well the cleaner resists hair wrapping?
Both do a good job but the S12 does it a bit better.
The Tineco is better with resisting hair tangling
The Dyson has a few strings on the fluffy head and torque drive after the test while the Tineco has none.
Edge cleaning test
Because of the Dyson's head being wider, it is noticeable better at cleaning corners and edges.
Both do better at the cleaning corners on hard floors with a soft roller.
The Dyson does a better job in corners
Manuarability
The Dyson's head has a bit better swivel which makes it convenient to use around the furniture such as chair legs, etc.
How noisy is the Dyson V10
Tineco | Dyson | |
Low, dB | 67.2 | 64.1 |
Mid, dB | N/A | 71.6 |
Max, dB | 70.4 | 76.7 |
The Dyson is louder on max settings but works quieter on low power settings.
Is the Tineco's battery more efficient?
Main cleaning head, low | Mid | Main cleaning head, Max | Non-Powered, low | Mid | Non-Powered, high
Tineco, min | 75.10 | N/A | 20.20 | 102.42 | N/A | 21.34 |
Dyson, min | 46.45 | 25.37 | 5.42 | 61.59 | 31.33 | 5.07 |
As you can see, the Tineco lasts longer. Besides, it has a dust sensor that adjusts suction power making the battery life more efficient.
What is coming in the box
The Tineco has a bigger accessory pack. If you are looking for a cleaner with lots of extra tools for floor-to-ceiling cleaning, the Tineco has more of these.
The Dyson comes with a decent accessory pack too but the Tineco has more.
Filters
Both vacuums have a sealed filtration system which means dust stays inside the dustbin as you vacuum.
The Dyson's filter does not get as dirty as the Tineco's.
After the cleaning tests, the Tineco pre-filter needs cleaning while the Dyson's filter does not require as much.
To conclude
Both cleaners do the job well and if you are looking for the best one, you won't go wrong with either.
The Dyson does a bit better job on corners and its filter does not get as dirty.
The Tineco has an efficient battery and more accessories in the box.
Which one would you go for?
