Updated: Apr 29, 2024

Video made by kode1996

Today we are here with the Shark Navigator Lift-Away with the Zero M cleaner head and the Shark Apex Powered Lift-Away Duo Clean with the Zero M cleaner head.

Let's see how well each of these machines perform on fake stains. Also, these cleaners will be tested on how they are able to pick up relatively small particles on carpeting.

The Duo Clean seems to struggle with pet hair and the Navigator doesn't have any issues with picking up anything.

  • the Shark Navigator Zero M - $179.

About Navigator

And honestly, this Navigator is significantly lighter than the Zero M. Is so heavy it almost weighs as much as the Kirby.

If the weight of the vacuum is important for you, you would likely go with the Navigator.

Both have the Zero-M cleaning brush but the Zero M has also a Duo Clean technology which means there are two cleaning heads and hair tends to get stuck in between the heads on the rubber teeth. This is where the soft roller is located. Pet hair tends to cause a huge clump in this area.

The Navigator has one Zero-M cleaning brush so it does not have such an issue.

Both machines have the Lift-Away feature that releases the hose with one simple click and now you can clean hard-to-reach places.

Shark Apex Powered Lift Away Duo Clean with Zero M

As was said before, this one is heavier than the Navigator.

It has a Duo Clean cleaning head with Zero-M technology. This is the best mix for picking up things on both surfaces, hard floor, and carpet.

Which one does cleaning better?

After running both on a low-pile carpet, they did about the same job after one pass forward and backward.

After testing the two on a low-pile carpet, it was clear that the Navigator is better for medium-pile carpets and deep clean because of its cleaning brush.

The DuoClean does the best job at picking up things but not as good at deep clean.

Filtration

Both have a sealed filtration system.

Both cleaners are ideal for those who suffer from asthma and allergy

Conclusion

If you are looking for a lighter option and have medium-pile carpet, we would recommend getting the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Zero-M (ZU561).

If you mostly have hard floors and thin carpets and want a cleaner that would pick up everything off the floor, consider getting the Shark APEX DuoClean Zero M (AZ1002).
