Shark Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away vs Vertex Pro

Updated: Apr 26, 2024

Let's focus on the Shark Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away cordless vacuum cleaner, which went through all kinds of tests. So let's get down to the review and the first thing to note is that the Vertex Pro is really similar to the Shark P50 that was released a few years ago and is now out of production.

Design

Vacuum cleaners rank first in the weight of cordless vacuum cleaners, and their battery and motor are located around the handle, and it turns out that you have to support all the weight on your hand while cleaning, which is quite tiring. And this is solved with the Vertex Pro when all of its heavy elements are mounted near the base, in which case most of the weight is not supported by your hand.

The second limitation of stick vacuums is cleaning above the floor, and this means the ability to use it for other purposes. Most stick vacuum cleaner handles feel too clumsy to be really useful for vacuuming above the floor.

Lift-Away

But the Shark Vertex Pro has a similar Lift-Away design to many others. This is an upright vacuum where you can detach the handle to use the attachments. You can do the same with a stick for hard-to-reach places, and you can even detach the potty from the floor nozzle to take it with you, for example, to clean the car or the stairs.
What you might not like about these vacuum cleaners is that they are difficult to store and hard to find a place to put them.

The Shark Vertex Pro has the Shark Duo clean roller system, which means it has a soft roller on the front and a more or less standard brush roller on the inside. And the advantage is that not only is it really good for picking up debris on hard floors, it's also quite pretty. Vertex Pro is unbeatable for larger debris and can pick up debris that conventional vacuum cleaners can't do the same with carpets. It also has a self-cleaning roller that resists tangling.

Display

There is also a new feature for Shark cordless vacuum cleaners, this is a real-time digital indication of the battery charge, where you can see how much time is left. This is a really useful feature. You can also switch between low, medium, and high power by changing the brush speed for hard floors or carpets.

Filtration

By the way, this model has a good hermetic HEPA filtration system, and this is extremely important, and not every cordless vacuum cleaner has it. The rest of its characteristics, such as airflow, were about average, we can say that it is on par with other Shark cordless vacuum cleaners.

Limitation

We also tested one of the strengths of this vacuum cleaner - its battery life, and according to Shark, it can work 60 minutes in low power mode, and testing was carried out by default, that is, at medium power, and it lasted 38 minutes, which is really impressive. At maximum power, it turned out 24 and a half minutes. So, with all three power settings, this is much higher than the other results.

Also probably already mentioned is its versatility in terms of its Power Eway Elevator mode, which refers to the fact that you can also detach the capsule in such a way that you can use it in the same way as a stick vacuum and this gives it a very small chance to penetrate under furniture. You will also like the bright LED light and the swivel that has enough resistance.

Conclusion

There are also some negative points, which, fortunately, are not so many. And here is one of those moments, this is what you need to regularly, about once a month, remove the roller and clean after it, otherwise, it will stop rotating until you clean it. It's just part of his regular maintenance.

Overall, this is a premium cordless vacuum cleaner, and at a really good price that does a lot more for you than the average cordless vacuum cleaner if your home has nearly 50% or more hard floors. It's not difficult, and certainly good if you have pets.
